Spiritual Disclaimer

Last Updated: January 1, 2024

"One should learn the transcendental service of the Lord from a self-realized spiritual master, by surrender, inquiries and service."

— Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā 4.34

This disclaimer outlines the spiritual nature and limitations of JAPA TIME's 24/7 Hare Krishna Maha-Mantra Meditation service according to Vedic scriptures and Vaishnava tradition.

1. Spiritual Guidance Disclaimer

JAPA TIME provides a platform for congregational chanting but is not a substitute for personal spiritual guidance (guru-disciple relationship). As stated in Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā 4.34, spiritual progress requires guidance from a bona fide spiritual master.

Important Spiritual Note

While Śrī Nāma Saṅkīrtana is universally beneficial, proper spiritual advancement requires guidance from a qualified guru in paramparā (disciplic succession). JAPA TIME facilitates chanting but does not provide personal spiritual direction.

2. Scriptural Context

Our service is based on the following scriptural principles:

Yuga-dharma

Chanting is the recommended spiritual practice for Kali-yuga (Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 12.3.51-52)

Nāma Mahima

The holy name is nondifferent from the Supreme Personality of Godhead (Padma Purāṇa)

Sādhana-bhakti

Chanting is a practice (sādhana) that leads to perfection (siddhi) (Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu 1.2.2)

3. Limitations of Online Service

  • Not a Replacement: Online chanting supplements but does not replace personal association with devotees (satsaṅga)
  • Technical Limitations: Internet connectivity issues may affect participation quality
  • No Personal Guidance: We do not provide individual spiritual counseling or dikṣā initiation
  • Cultural Context: Participants from different backgrounds may interpret teachings differently

4. Health and Medical Disclaimer

While chanting has spiritual benefits, participants with mental health conditions should continue their prescribed medical treatments. Spiritual practice complements but does not replace professional healthcare.

5. Content Accuracy

Scriptural references are presented according to our understanding. For authoritative interpretations, refer to original scriptures and recognized spiritual authorities in paramparā.

6. No Guaranteed Results

Spiritual progress depends on individual sincerity, faith, and the mercy of the Supreme Lord. We make no guarantees regarding spiritual advancement or material benefits.

"All that we do is simply by His grace. We can plan hundreds and thousands of things, but unless they are sanctioned by the Lord, they will never be successful."

— Śrīla Prabhupāda (Letter, 22 December 1972)

7. Third-Party Content

We may reference or link to external spiritual resources. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites or organizations.

8. Image Licensing and Attribution

Some images on this website may be used under Creative Commons licenses (e.g., CC BY-SA 4.0). Where applicable, attribution and license information are provided directly on the relevant page next to the image. If you believe any media on this site is used improperly, please contact us and we will review it promptly.

9. Service Continuity

As a volunteer-based spiritual initiative, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Technical issues, maintenance, or other factors may temporarily affect availability.

10. Spiritual Responsibility

Participants are responsible for their own spiritual practice and understanding. Engage in chanting with proper guidance and according to your capacity and faith.

11. Paramparā Principle

All spiritual knowledge should be received through authorized disciplic succession (paramparā). For deeper understanding, seek guidance from bona fide spiritual masters.

12. Contact for Clarifications

For spiritual guidance: Seek local ISKCON temple or authorized spiritual master
