Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)
Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā, Chapter 13 — during the Ratha-yatra festival in Jagannatha Puri, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu dances in divine ecstasy before the chariot of Lord Jagannatha, surrounded by kirtana parties of His devotees.
Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
This lila reveals the deepest mystery of divine love in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is Krishna Himself in the mood and golden complexion of Srimati Radharani, dances before Lord Jagannatha in overwhelming prema. Outwardly it is a public festival, but inwardly it is the meeting of Krishna and the love of Vraja. The kirtana, the tears, the raised arms, and the movement of the chariot all become expressions of transcendental longing and reunion. Ratha-yatra thus becomes not merely a procession, but a revelation of the heart of bhakti.
