Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)
Cc. Madhya 7.136–139 introduces the brāhmaṇa Vāsudeva and his grief on learning that Mahāprabhu has left. Verse 7.140 explicitly says the Lord returned and embraced him. According to 7.141, the Lord's touch removed Vāsudeva's leprosy and suffering. In 7.142–143, Vāsudeva marvels at the Lord's mercy and offers praise. The artwork shows the instant after that touch, when Vāsudeva has already been healed. The figures' appearance, clothing, house and daylight are artistic details, not literal descriptions in these verses.
Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
The brāhmaṇa Vāsudeva came to Kūrma's house hoping to see Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, only to learn that the Lord had departed. Overwhelmed, he fainted. Mahāprabhu returned and embraced him; at the Lord's touch Vāsudeva's disease and distress vanished. Grateful and astonished, Vāsudeva praised His inconceivable mercy.
