Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)
Srimad-Bhagavatam, Canto 8, Chapters 8-9 describes how, after the churning of the Ocean of Milk, the nectar of immortality appears. To protect the demigods and restore cosmic order, Lord Vishnu assumes the enchanting form of Mohini-murti and distributes the nectar exclusively to the devas, while the asuras become captivated by Her beauty.
Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
This lila reveals that the Supreme Lord is the ultimate protector of dharma. Although both the devas and the asuras worked together to obtain the nectar, the Lord knew that immortality in the hands of the demoniac would bring suffering to the universe. Assuming the incomparable form of Mohini-murti, He enchanted the asuras and calmly served the nectar only to the demigods. Even supreme beauty, which bewilders the entire creation, remains fully under the Lord’s control and is used only for the welfare of all beings. This pastime also demonstrates that material intelligence and strength cannot overcome the divine will.
