Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
In Navadvīpa, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu leads a powerful night saṅkīrtana—devotees moving together with mṛdaṅgas and karatālas, hearts overflowing with prema. Torches illuminate the streets as the Holy Name resounds, and the crowd’s joy becomes one united offering. This līlā reveals the yuga-dharma: in Kali-yuga the Lord’s mercy flows through the congregational chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, awakening humility, faith, and ecstatic devotion.
ghare ghare saṅkīrtana karite lāgilā"
The Lord ordered all the citizens of Navadvīpa to chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, and in each and every home they began performing saṅkīrtana regularly.
Śāstra‑pramāṇa (scriptural proof)
Mahāprabhu establishes and personally leads nāma‑saṅkīrtana in Navadvīpa
Devotees chant loudly with mṛdaṅgas and karatālas as the Holy Name spreads through the streets
The night saṅkīrtana mood is marked by unity, loud chanting, and waves of spiritual emotion (bhāva)
Tattva (essential teaching)
Nāma-saṅkīrtana is yuga-dharma: the Lord’s special mercy for Kali-yuga.
The Holy Name is non-different from Kṛṣṇa: chanting is direct association with the Lord.
Bhakti grows in sadhu-saṅga: devotion becomes strong when practiced together.
Ecstasy is grounded in humility: real bhāva supports service mood, not show.
Sevā today (practice for this day)
kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva nāsty eva gatir anyathā"
In this age of Kali, there is no other means of spiritual realization than chanting the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way, no other way, no other way.
