Saṅkṣepa (concise narration)
Bali Mahārāja, faithful to his word, offers three steps of land to Vāmana. The Lord expands as Trivikrama and covers the worlds with two steps. When there is no place left for the third, Bali does not retreat—he offers his own head. The Supreme Lord places His lotus foot upon Bali and accepts his surrender, teaching that true greatness is humility, and that the Lord is pleased when devotion stands firm even under test.
The Lord tests and protects bhakti: what looks like defeat becomes divine elevation. Mercy beyond judgement: the Lord accepts surrender and establishes the devotee in shelter.
