Prasāda Guide

A respectful home guide for preparing, offering, honoring and sharing prasāda without replacing local ISKCON standards.

This guide is offered as a practical devotional aid for personal sādhana. It does not replace the guidance of guru, sādhus, śāstra, local ISKCON authorities, temple pūjārīs, or senior Vaiṣṇavas. For formal Deity worship and temple service, please follow your local authorized standards.

Before cooking

  • Cook in cleanliness and a peaceful mood.
  • Use suitable ingredients and avoid meat, fish, eggs, onion, garlic, alcohol and unsuitable products.
  • Do not taste food before it is offered.

Offering

  • Place a portion on a separate clean plate for Kṛṣṇa.
  • Offer prayers to Śrīla Prabhupāda, guru and Lord Kṛṣṇa.
  • Wait for a few minutes with gratitude and remembrance.

Honoring prasāda

  • Receive prasāda as mercy, not ordinary food.
  • Avoid waste and keep the place clean.
  • Share respectfully without pressure or pride.

When unsure

  • For Deity worship and formal offerings, follow your local ISKCON standards.
  • Ask senior Vaiṣṇavas about Ekādaśī ingredients and local temple practice.
