Mother Yashoda sees the universe in Krishna’s mouth — the Lord reveals all existence within Himself
Śāstra-mārga Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.8
Mother Yashoda sees the universe in Krishna’s mouth — the Lord reveals all existence within Himself

Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)

Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Canto 10, Chapter 8 — when the cowherd boys complain that Krishna has eaten dirt, mother Yashoda asks Him to open His mouth. Looking inside, she sees the entire universe within Him.

Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)

This lila reveals the inconceivable nature of Sri Krishna. He stands before mother Yashoda as her small child, yet within Him she beholds the total cosmic manifestation. In one moment, maternal affection and divine revelation meet face to face. The Lord who plays in Vraja as a village child is also the Supreme Reality who contains all worlds within Himself. Still, by the sweetness of vraja-lila, mother Yashoda’s love remains stronger than awe.

Sevā today (practice for this day)

Chant one attentive round praying, “O Krishna, please let me remember that You are both infinitely great and personally near.”
2. See the hidden presence of the Lord
Reflect on one place in your life where you see only the ordinary, and try to remember the Lord’s hidden presence there.
3. Offer simple loving service
Offer one simple act of loving service with the mood of Vraja — intimate, sincere, and free from calculation.
