Saṅkṣepa (concise narration)
When danger becomes inescapable and the forest fire surrounds Vraja, the Vraja-vāsīs take shelter of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. Seeing His devotees frightened, Kṛṣṇa effortlessly “drinks” the blazing fire and saves everyone—revealing that the Lord personally protects those who depend on Him, and that surrender (śaraṇāgati) is never in vain.

Tattva (what this lila teaches)
Kṛṣṇa is rakṣaka: The Lord protects His devotees directly, beyond ordinary logic.
Śaraṇāgati is the safe path: In helplessness, the Vraja‑vāsīs simply depend on Him—this is pure bhakti.
Fear dissolves in shelter: The same fire that terrifies the world becomes powerless before the Lord.
Sevā today (simple practice)
yo 'dyaiva muñcati sahasā daśa‑kuñjaraṃ phalam"
One who takes shelter of the lotus feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, which are like desire trees, at once gives up all material attachments and achieves the fruit of ten elephants (transcendental bliss).
